What are your reactions to the results?

  • Are they understandable and relatable?

  • Do you they align with the work you do?

The results generally do feel understandable and clear to me, and I appreciate the inclusive way they seem to have been generated. One open question I have is how they could contain more detailed information on how equity plays into the attainment of these results. We know that homelessness in MN disparately impacts certain demographic populations, several of whom are noted in the 5th result, but I don't get a clear sense of how these disparities will be accounted for / addressed. The other thought that arose is that these results largely appear to be treatment-oriented, as opposed to preventative. I think one crucial component of realizing housing justice, and indeed many kinds of justice, is shifting our perspectives away from crisis management and treatment and toward preventative measures, policies, etc. So many of our systems are geared toward trying to address challenges after they've already arisen, rather than trying to end the cycles that perpetuate them. I would be curious to see how these results could include a more preventative perspective and approach.
